Sr. Integrated Grid Planning Engineer




Advance PGE’s capabilities relating to Integrated Grid Planning. Performs engineering studies and analyses on PGE’s transmission and distribution system and develops engineering processes to more wholly integrated the presence and availability of Distributed Energy Resources into Grid Planning and Operations.

Performs engineering studies and facilitates the development of new policies, processes, and procedures in concert with the Distribution Planning team, OPUC Staff, and internal and external stakeholder workgroups with respect to Integrated Grid Planning.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

Experience working with powerflow modeling software, CYME preferred

Experience applying energy and demand forecasting and allocation concepts

Ability to work with ambiguity in a rapidly evolving environment

Ability to effectively facilitate change management

Functional Competencies

Expert knowledge of engineering and economic principles and concepts.

Advanced knowledge of other engineering disciplines and advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.

Expert understanding and application of engineering processes and procedures; intermediate knowledge of other related departments and functions.

Advanced industry knowledge and technology trends.

Advanced knowledge of company QA/QC process and procedures.

Intermediate knowledge of construction feasibility.

Intermediate knowledge of procurement and contract administration.

Advanced knowledge of process and procedures for project controls and estimates.

Advanced knowledge of initiating electrical improvements and corrective actions for the distribution system related facilities, including advanced knowledge of distribution networks.

Advanced knowledge in calculating electrical system parameters and distribution system modeling.

Advanced knowledge of substations, control and protection systems preferred.

Advanced ability to review, evaluate and analyze technical information, policies and reports.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency.


Typically 10 or more years in related field.

Certifications, Licenses and Training

Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred; may be required based upon role.
