Sr. Project Engineer – Transmission Engineering (R1-19-0641)

POSITION PURPOSE

 

Applies engineering education and training in advancing professional knowledge of engineering processes and standards and independently applies knowledge to assignments with occasional guidance on request.

Applies knowledge of design software, LiDAR, infrared cameras, UV cameras, etc. to suggest work flow enhancements; develops applied professional engineering knowledge of distribution design techniques, applicable codes, and regulations through assignments in support of complex projects.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil preferred) from ABET accredited engineering program (preferred) or program accredited by an equivalent agency.

Typically two or more years in engineering.

Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred; may be required based upon role.

Advanced knowledge of engineering and economic principles and concepts.

Advanced knowledge of other engineering disciplines and advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.

Advanced understanding and application of engineering processes and procedures; working knowledge of other related departments and functions.

Advanced industry knowledge and technology trends.

Advanced knowledge of company QA/QC process and procedures.

Intermediate knowledge of construction feasibility.

Intermediate knowledge of procurement and contract administration.

Advanced knowledge of process, procedures for project controls and estimates.

Advanced skill designing overhead transmission lines, including relevant civil, structural, environmental and electrical sub-systems.

Advanced knowledge of applicable policies, rules, regulations and codes relating to the design and operation of transmission.
